Monday Night Muddle Club Classes – 10-week term
First class: 20th July 2020
Last class: 21st September
6.00pm – 9:00pm
(with a 30min dinner break)
Clay, glazes, tools, equipment are all supplied, and firing of works made during class is included.
Our large light-filled workshop space includes 10 pottery wheels, 2 slab rollers, hand-building tables, and all the tools you’ll need.
There’s a maximum of ten students per class so our students get plenty of one-on-one tutoring.
These classes are open to all levels of clay experience from beginner through to a seasoned maker.
Classes a taught on an open learning style, as there are mixed experience levels in each class. The teacher demonstrates and explains techniques of differing projects, if the learner wishes to expand that skill set they can participate in that demo. Hands-on explanations of technical issues are given as they arise when working on personal projects.
In the fully equipped studio learners can experience hand-building (making using the pinch, coil and slab techniques), wheel throwing (using the potters wheel to form the clay) and slip casting (using liquid clay in moulds).
When you’re enrolled in our adult term classes, you automatically become a Muddle Club member. When you’re in the Muddle Club you can come along to the studio whenever it’s open to keep working on your projects or produce more work. You’ll have full use of the studio equipment and tools. You’re welcome to come while another class is running, but please keep in mind that the class participants have first priority when using equipment. One-on-one tutoring isn’t available while you’re not in designated class time, but as the studio is a working studio with a number of potters there’s always someone around to answer any questions you may have. Firing costs will be worked out on an individual basis, and will be at a very reasonable fee based on weight / size of your work.
We’re at the studio between 10am – 9pm Monday-Thursday, and other times by arrangement.
